Trust Executive Group
Ally is proud to serve as the Director of Schools (Primary) with responsibility for strategic leadership, school improvement and standards across Community Academies Trust's 14 primary schools located across Telford, Staffordshire and Warwickshire. Her ethos and approach aligns strongly with our Trust's overarching values, with a belief that schools should reflect the communities that they serve and celebrate their uniqueness whilst supporting and enabling schools within our Trust to remain highly effective, building and maintaining their reputation for ensuring academic excellence and preparing every child well for their next stage of education.
During Ally’s teaching career she has worked in a wide range of different school settings and local authorities. She was a practising Head for 18 years and, in addition to her Headteacher role, she became a school improvement adviser for Telford & Wrekin LA and, subsequently, for a Teaching School from 2014. As a result of her proven track record of school improvement in vulnerable schools, she was also appointed by the DfE as a National Leader of Education (NLE) from 2017-2022 and worked across settings in Birmingham and Dudley to support the national 'School Improvement Strategy' and workforce reform. She also undertook pupil premium reviews.
In 2019, Ally joined a small, newly formed Trust as a Headteacher and, as part of her wider role, worked closely with the CEO of the Trust to develop a school improvement strategy across 8 schools. In September 2022, she moved to their Central Team on a full-time basis as Deputy CEO and School Improvement Officer before joining Community Academies Trust in her current role.
Ally has a drive for continued self-improvement and has completed the National SENCO award, has a post graduate certificate in inclusion and vulnerable learners and is a registered Ofsted Inspector.
